We had 24 Corvettes travelling through some of the most magnificent scenery in the country. Travel routes, motels, and meals were coordinated very exceptionally well by three members: Peggy, Karen, and Marsha. Kudos to them for their time and effort planning this adventure! We stopped by Fairway Chevy in Las Vegas to see the owner’s personal collection of classic cars. Another stop in St. George, Utah at a Chevy dealer as well. Day 1: Simi to Las Vegas. Day 2: Las Vegas to Zion. Day 3: Zion to Bryce Canyon. Day 4: Bryce Canyon to Torrey / Capitol Reef. Day 5: Torrey to Moab. Day 6: Moab to St. George. Day 7: St. George back home to Simi. Dinners were at Wild Cat Willey’s, Ebenezers Barn and Grill, Rim Rock Restaurant, Broken Oar Restaurant, among others. On the return trip we met the St. George Corvette Club for dinner at a local eatery. We filled the patio and all enjoyed themselves. We hit a little snow in Zion, and some cool weather a couple of mornings, but it warmed up nicely and weather was exceptionally good throughout the six days. A few of the members got to cruise some empty stretches of Utah highway at speeds that only our Corvettes could comfortably go for a half an hour at a time. Ironically, the only speeding ticket was for going 75 in a 65 mph zone – go figure. This run was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
